1. Scenario Assembly and Multi Year Quote
Overview
The RFQ Intake Form includes quote category options that determine how the quote is processed
Available Options
Scenario Assembly- Regular RFQ
Package quotes must be a scenario assembly
Multi year Quote
Important Limitation
Package Quotes are not supported for Multi-Year Quotes.
When a user selects a Multi-Year quote:
The Package Quote option is automatically removed from the available selections.
Users must proceed with a standard multi-year configuration.
Key Takeaway
Package Quotes and Multi-Year Quotes are mutually exclusive and cannot be used together.
2. Multi-Year Quote Setup and Base Year
Overview
Multi-Year Quotes use the same basic RFQ setup as standard quotes. The primary addition is the Base Year field.
What is Base Year?
The Base Year determines when annual inflation calculations begin.
Example
If the Base Year is set to 2026:
Year | Inflation Applied |
2026 | No |
2027 | Yes |
2028 | Yes |
Common Use Cases
Current-year quoting
Programs that begin production in a future year
Long-term customer pricing agreements
Best Practice
Use the expected program start year as the Base Year when future production timing differs from the quote creation year.
3. Multi-Year Quantities by Year
Overview
Multi-Year Quotes allow quantities to be defined across multiple years.
Example
Year | Quantity |
2026 | 1,000 |
2027 | 10,000 |
2028 | 5,000 |
Additional Flexibility
Users may enter multiple quantity entries for the same year when production is divided into different periods or demand schedules.
Example
Year | Quantity |
2027 | 2,000 |
2027 | 8,000 |
Inflation Logic
Inflation is evaluated by year.
Important:
Inflation is only applied once per applicable year.
The system does not double-count inflation when multiple entries exist for the same calendar year.
Benefits
This functionality supports:
Production ramp-ups
Production ramp-downs
Phased manufacturing schedules
More accurate long-term forecasting
4. Customer Currency and Editable Conversion Rate
Overview
The RFQ Intake Form now supports customer-specific currency display and currency conversion management.
Default Behavior
Customer currency is populated from configuration settings.
The system automatically applies the configured conversion rate.
Editable Conversion Rate
Users with the appropriate permissions can modify the conversion rate during the project lifecycle.
Example
A customer may negotiate a specific exchange rate that differs from the standard configured rate.
If needed, the user can update the rate to an agreed value, such as:
8.82
Common Use Cases
Fixed exchange-rate agreements
Customer-specific pricing arrangements
Currency fluctuations during long-running projects
Known Labeling Issue
The current field label may display as RFQ Currency.
The intended label is: Customer Currency
