Before You Begin
To use Labor Import, your system administrator must have completed the necessary setup and enabled the feature for your organization.
If Labor Import is not available in your environment, contact your CalcuQuote administrator.
A CalcuQuote team member will need your Sharepoint Credentials to configure the connection.
Import Labor Values
Step 1: Open the Labor Import Tool
Open your quote and navigate to the Summary page.
Select Import.
Choose Import Labor.
Step 2: Select Your Cost Model File
Browse to the Excel file containing the labor values you want to import.
Your organization may have multiple folders, files, or worksheets available, so be sure to select the correct cost model file.
This will be a direct reflection of your Sharepoint set up.
Step 3: Map the Data Fields
After selecting your file, map the values from your spreadsheet to the appropriate CalcuQuote fields.
Recommended workflow:
Map the quantity fields first.
Map the labor-related fields.
For example:
Spreadsheet Field | CalcuQuote Field |
Setup Labor Hours | Setup Labor |
Variable Labor Hours | Variable Labor |
Tip: If the file structure remains the same, CalcuQuote will remember your mappings for future imports, reducing setup time.
Step 4: Complete the Import
Click Submit.
Wait for the confirmation message indicating the import has completed successfully.
Once the import is finished, the updated labor values will appear on the Summary page of your quote.
Reviewing Imported Values
After the import, you can verify that the labor values have been updated correctly.
If a value is modified after import, additional controls become available:
Reset to Original Value
Select the Reset icon to return the field to its original value.
View Original Value
Hover over the View Original Value (eye) icon to see the original value before it was changed.
These controls help you easily compare imported values with previous values and revert changes if necessary.
File Requirements
To ensure a successful import, your source file should follow these guidelines:
Use a Dedicated Worksheet
Place the labor values you want to import on a dedicated worksheet within the Excel workbook.
2. Place the Import Worksheet Tab First
The worksheet containing the import data should be the first tab in the workbook.
3. Use Matching Field Names
The field names in your import file must match the field names configured in CalcuQuote.
Standard templates should use standard field names.
Custom templates should use the corresponding custom field names.
During the import process, you'll map each spreadsheet field to the appropriate CalcuQuote field.
Importing NRE Values
The same workflow can also be used to import Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) values.
To import NRE data:
Open the import tool.
Select the appropriate NRE file.
Map the required fields.
Click Submit.
The process is identical to the Labor Import workflow.
